We just moved to the area and had no local contacts for remodeling. We interviewed several remodeling firms and after meeting with Kevin, it was clear who our choice was going to be. Kevin showed up prepared and early to every meeting we had with him. We needed a one stop contractor that could provide a design for our basement finish, vendors for materials and sub contractors for the labor. The process was easy for us and Kevin made sure what our responsibilities were and how to accomplish them. Once work began, the progress he made in just the first week was amazing to us. What to say but Thank You! We want to let everyone know what a fantastic job O'Brien Construction did on our bathroom renovation. We hired another contractor who tried to remodel our bathroom to no avail and we promptly fired him. We were stuck as we had already paid the other guy way too much. I contacted Kevin based on a recommendation from my neighbor who used him a couple of years ago. By this time we had a un-usable, partially completed bathroom and needed it to be completed. Kevin met with us and gave us a new direction for our project. In 2 weeks Kevin and his team had taken our bathroom from un-usable to complete and functional. His tile work is impeccable as I watched him remove a tile that was slightly off and replace it with one that was perfect. Kevin is a perfectionist and demands his sub-contractors give the same type of service to his clients. We are having him back to renovate our basement later this year. To Whom it may concern:
I had to write a note to let you know just how fantastic our new bathroom looks. We had a party over the holidays and all of our guests simply loved the new bathroom! I think it was a bigger hit than the party itself! The heated floor is just too good to be true, as this bathroom was always cold and never seemed to warm up. Kevin removed the bathtub and installed a new jetted bathtub, a shower with a bench and new vanity's. Kevin also made us 2 custom recess shower niches that hold all of our shower products. We can't say enough good things about Kevin and his company other than, hire him, sit back and relax.

In a business where average makes the grade, Kevin shines above all the rest. He is attentive, returns call and emails promptly and offers a strong warranty. I know because after I hired Kevin to remodel my basement bathroom, I had a leak coming from the shower. Kevin was at my house the next morning before work so I wouldn't miss any time. He and the plumber diagnosed the problem which was a faulty shower door threshold. Kevin's glass company came by at noon and by the time I returned home from work that day it was fixed. When the time came to finish our basement we had many choices for contractors. After meeting with 3 others that we felt just didn't match our expectations we called O'Brien Construction. Kevin sat with us for over an hour listening to what we had planned and offered alternatives without disregarding our original ideas. My wife is a very visual person so it was important to me that she could envision her new workout room. Well when Kevin came back for the proposal presentation, he had a surprise for us. A full color rendering of what our new basement and more importantly my wife's workout room would like with the colors she wanted. We knew that we had found our guy. In just a couple of weeks we had the permit and construction began. Kevin is very well organized and our project ran like clockwork, which to me is amazing because at times there were 4 different sub-contractors all working together under Kevin's watchful eye. "From the beginning I could tell Kevin was in a different league than
the other contractors that I talked to. He is very professional and only
hires sub-contractors that meet his high standards. We agreed on changes
along the way as mold and other hazards were found. One of the things
that I really appreciated about Kevin was his patience in explaining
everything to me and never pressuring me to do additional work. I never
imagined my basement could look so good We talked a lot about the look I
wanted and he offered good suggestions. His tile work is beautiful. The
clearance in my stairway was not up to Denver building code. Kevin
worked with the building department to find an agreeable solution.
Another thing I really liked about working with Kevin is he doesn't
forget you when he finishes the job. He called me a few weeks after
completion to make sure everything was okay and came back promptly to

with attention to detail who would do quality work and decided to go

He discovered some issues from faulty work done many years ago and was

"Kevin O’Brien is very professional and has great organizational
skills. His subcontractors were sequenced very efficiently so that the
project did not experience delays. Kevin knows the value of good
communication with clients, and each time I spoke with him he always
asked if I had any questions or concerns. He also communicated well with
my condo management regarding water shutoffs, flooring noise-control
underlayment, and the insurance policy he carried. He and his subs
always showed up at the scheduled time, and the work areas (as well as
the condo halls) were always cleaned at the end of the day. The
subcontractors did work of exceptional quality. Kevin was a good problem
solver, and came up with the idea of a steel bar to support one end of
my granite bar overhang rather than a bulky corbel. The project was 90%
done in five weeks (when he had estimated 6-7 weeks). And I moved back
into the kitchen at that point. However, finishing the project took
another four months! There were mistakes on the part of the distributor,
manufacturer, and installer of the (high-end, custom) cabinets. (The
fillers in the lower cabinets were not wide enough, so a drawer
wouldn’t open because it bumped into the oven handle and two cabinet
doors hit appliances. The pantry doors arrived configured differently
than ordered. The re-ordered doors weren’t colormatched and had to be
ordered a third time. Pantry roll-outs weren’t deep enough to use the
available space.) Lesser contractors would have disappeared when these
problems arose, but Kevin vowed he would finish the project to my
satisfaction. He worked with his cabinet distributor to order some new
doors, filler, end panel, roll-outs, and drawer fronts. He even had to
recut granite and reconfigure a kneewall to solve the drawer-bumping
problem. For only two days during the final four months was there any
construction mess in my kitchen. Of course, I wish that the project had
been completed in 7 weeks, but I am going to live with this kitchen for
years and am glad that it was completed correctly. Kevin can be trusted;
he knows the value of a good reputation. I felt like Kevin was my
partner in trying to achieve a great project outcome, rather than just a
person I had hired. I wanted perfection, a high-end kitchen, and
warranted work and Kevin delivered. Even with my problems I can easily
recommend O’Brien Construction."
